You want the goth subculture to continue existing? Then accept that not everyone can be an 80s goth and a 90s goth. Those times are past. There will be 2000s goths and 2010s goths and hopefully goths for many, many years to come. And there will always be differences and the scubculture is going to evolve. Stop shitting on current goths just because you you can’t change and are suffocating in your stagnation and elitism.

Truuuuuth
I would like to add something to this that not a lot of people think about. Many people are victims of their time and their generation. From the moment we are born we are shaped by our environment. Everything we see on tv, hear on the radio and experience in our lives helps build the person we become. No matter what, young goths are never going to be exactly like goths in the 80’s and 90’s because we didn’t experience it. No matter how much 80’s music we listen to or how big we tease our hair, we will never know the feeling of stepping into a goth club in 83 and experiencing the rush of existing at the exact moment a subculture was being born. We will never know what its like to listen to Bauhaus when they were still new and young. We weren’t there. We didn’t grow up in a more conservative time when mainstream culture dominated and punk and goth kicked and slashed its way onto the scene giving kids permission to rebel and express themselves.
We grew up in a different time. Some of us grew up being outcasts in a time when emo culture was popular and the only freaks in school were kids in tight jeans and band t’s. Some of us are teens in a time when social media rules and the easiest way to make friends is talking to people on the internet.
Its a different time. It will always be a different time. No matter what, goth will never be the same. Goth formed at the perfect time and place and has since grown but at the end of the day, it will never be the same. The world has changed. If goth had waited til now to form it wouldn’t be the same. Just be happy that it happened when it did but don’t blame young goths for not being there. Don’t blame them for being different or seeing goth differently from you. Their experiences are not the same.

also accepting non white goths

^ F'real, weed out the elitist yt goths already.

(Should go without saying but, the racist/misogynist/homophobic/etc goths gotta go, too!)

I was a proud 90’s goth and I’m delighted goth is continuing on. It for me was and still my identity. Things evolve with time that’s natural and goth culture is no different. Be goth as you see goth to you. Please don’t let the lifestyle die!

Things that don’t evolve or adapt don’t survive and we all want the goth culture to live long so we should all be accepting of anyone and everyone choosing to express themselves through this wonderful culture!

Please preach this.

jellophish:

Lately I’ve come across younger artists wanting tablets but not being able to afford them, or get their parents to buy them. Which is totally understandable. My first tablet was a Wacom Bamboo and it was a lot for my parents at the time. Luckily, there’s more options now a days. So here’s a few good tablets that are affordable to start out with. Some of these aren’t Wacom and maybe aren’t as fancy as Wacom, but they will work just as fine.

Huion 4 x 2.23 Graphics Tablet

Quite a small tablet, but at $21 on Amazon, not too bad if you really want just a tablet.

twxla:

4 Pack #1: Fully articulated dolls with earrings, accessories, phones, detailed and collector quality outfits that shows off each characters personality perfectly, unique and detailed hairstyles, stunning make-up that is completely unique to the specific doll, beautiful and detailed shoes and purses with painted accents. Retail 44.95. Year: 2013

4 Pack #2: No articulation in the elbows or wrists, basic hairstyles, cheap accessories with no painted details, boring/generic dresses, ugly purses, horrible, clunky and reused shoes, ugly face paint that they’ve re-used at least 5 times. Retail 44.95. Year: 2017

We know that Mattel can make beautiful and detailed dolls again but they choose not to. They’re dumbfounded as to why Monster High is failing yet they’re producing literal plastic garbage in hopes that we as collectors will blindly buy anything they put out. Monster High is dead unless they remember what made it so popular in the first place. Until then, #RIPMH.
