I don’t talk about them.
I don’t go into their tag.
If I see an edit of them, I ignore it.
I may even blacklist their name if the dislike is strong enough.
you know what I don’t do when I don’t like a character?
go in their tag
reblog edits of them just to complain
make posts about them
in general, I don’t waste my time and breath on them
it’s….it’s a remarkably simple concept
it makes life a whole lot nicer

Pro tip: When people ask for “prayers” or “positive energy,” that’s another way of asking for emotional support. So when you come on people’s posts saying “lol but God don’t real why don’t u do something real,” what that person hears is, “I don’t care about you, your suffering, or your problems.”

Requests for support and solidarity are *not* a good place to hash out the finer points of metaphysics.

you don’t have to pretend to believe the same thing they do. it’s ok to say something like “i hope things turn out well” or “i believe in you” or even just “witnessed”.
it’s also a good idea not to offer advice without asking first if it’s wanted. a lot of the time when people ask for prayers or well wishes, they know the practical options and are already doing what they can. they just feel terrible and want encouragement. it’s hard to work on your problems constructively when you’re weighed down with grief or fear.
it’s ok, no one will assume you’re religious if you don’t protest the phrasing. just be a kind person.
