A fun reminder that Aang was a terrifyingly powerful Avatar.

Most Avatars are informed of their newfound destinies at the age of 16 to begin their training. Because of the approaching war Aang was told of his status at the age of 12. He had already mastered airbending, and in the span of a year he mastered the other three elements, the avatar state, and energybending. He also learned lightning redirection and seismic sense (a technique no previous Avatar had even encountered). In the span of a year.

This child was a terrifying force of nature.

somebodys gonna take the “socializing in a friendly manner with the FBI agent monitoring me” too literally and make a whole rant about how it’s actually really horrible that we’re humanizing and undemonize the fbi and it’s creepy big brother schtick and half of the website is gonna feel guilty and embarrassed for laughing at this joke and will avoid posts that even mention the fbi and the other half are gonna send death threats to the op of the original post and they’re gonna get driven off of tumblr saying some shit like “I’ve realized how toxic and unwelcoming this website is I need some time for myself” and then months later somebody’s gonna point out how it was a coping mechanism form of humor because we literally can do nothing about the fbi monitoring us and then everyone will feel stupid no matter what side they took and we’ll all silently agree to never bring it up again until five years from now in one of those “memes from 2018” posts

misscherrylikesthediscourse:

Giving homeless people MONEY instead of FOOD can save their lives this winter, shelters cost money, being able to sit in McDonald’s and nurse a coke for a couple hours to warm up costs money, often accessing public toilets (whether it’s to use them, wash up or just to be out of the wind) costs money.

Just give homeless people cash, just do it, no excuses, no whining about “enabling their drug habits”, if you have money to spare, give it and possibly save someone from literally freezing to death.

My friendo’s got a pretty sick kitty on his hands. He’s already taken a lot of hits in life, and to lose his friend now would be way too much for him to bear, so if you have anything you can spare, please give this a look. :

Giving another little signal boost for Pumpkin. He’s over half-way to his goal and holy crap you guys, I’m so grateful for how people have pulled together to help my friend out. You’re all amazing! 💜

Cat companions all around me are not doing well.  Three cats from three separate friends passed away in the last month, my sister’s cats have mystery lung illnesses that they’re trying to diagnose, my mom’s cat is currently staying overnight at the vets for a mystery GI issue.  My own cat is fine right now, thank the gods.  But I can’t abide by anyone else’s cats not doing well, even if I don’t know them.  I donated what I could, and I’m posting this on my main blog to get as much attention for it as I can.  Please help Pumpkin fight lymphoma!

zarabotu:

This is Uluru, it happens very rarely when it rains, a real blessing to witness.
I was very lucky to visit here after the rain. See the tree? use that for scale as to how big the rock is.
Uluru is a source of fresh water in the desert that used to sustain the Anangu people. Animals would come from all over the desert to drink and that would provide food for the people and water. Then something happened…

… you guessed it, white people. Uluru is sacred to the Anangu people, which is pretty understandable, as such it should not be trodden on. But white tourists want to climb it. This takes about three hours and there are no toilets up there so white people piss and shit on this sacred rock, they drop camera batteries and rubbish and this all goes into the water, so does sun cream and fly spray and so the animals have stopped coming so the Anangu have nothing to eat or drink. So now, deep irony, they are dependant on the Tourist industry for their living, where before they lived free.

The Australian government gave Uluru back to the Anangu on one condition. White people were allowed to still walk on the rock as tourists. This continues today. If the percentage of visiting tourists that walk on the rock drops below 30% the rock will be completely repatriated to the Anangu.

IT CURRENTLY STANDS AT 31%

Which means that every individual who walks on the rock is personally delaying the repatriation of Uluru to the Anangu.

DO NOT WALK ON ULURU

I’m bedbound with CRPS and can’t  walk to food/water. Without disability care, I can’t possibly stay alive

Less than 1 hour till deadline to raise *699* for disability care. Without donations, I could be killed by neglect & dehydration

  1. My complex regional pain syndrome leaves me permanently bedbound, unable to even walk to food/water  [MEDICAL REPORTS HERE].
  2. Without paid carers, I could STARVE AND DEHYDRATE.
  3. Lack of paid cleaning could also breach my lease and get me PERMANENTLY BANNED from rental subsidies.
  4. Being BEDBOUND, HOMELESSNESS COULD KILL ME.
  5. $2386 in current care fees & $2303 for care debts must be raised urgently throughdaily deadlines to avoid care termination.
  6. Because a widely criticised [1] [2] [3] [4] gov. disability service is refusing me care, raising donations is now A MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH.

PLEASE DONATE HERE

I’ve been asked many times what someone should look for when trying to find a good artist. The best way you can do this is to look at their portfolio, whether it’s in a book at their shop or online. If they don’t have good work in their portfolio, they’re probably not good artists.

The shop may be clean, the people there might be nice, and the design they draw up for you might be exactly what you want, but if your artist doesn’t stand up to the points listed above, then you’re going to get a bad tattoo.

It’s okay to walk into a shop, talk with an artist for a while, and decide you don’t want a tattoo from them. Even if the artist has a bad attitude about it or tries to convince you to just let them do it, remember this is going to be on your body for the rest of your life.

This is fucking fantastic thank you!!
