Chewbacca the Cockatoo Needs a Home:
I need your help! Long story short, my friend fell in love with this amazing cockatoo named Chewbacca. She visits him often and they have completely bonded. I watched them yesterday and they really do love each other so much it breaks my heart!! The store is moving locations and splitting up the animals with no indication as to which animals will go where. My friend may never see Chewbacca again and that really worries me. He is the sweetest bird ever but he really only gets along with my friend. People have bought and returned him and his previous owner passed away. This is very stressful on Chewbacca and can decrease his lifespan from being passed around so much. My friend wants nothing more than to take Chewbacca home. She’s disabled so, she has the time to devote to this amazing bird. However, she does not have the funds unfortunately. She started a GoFundMe campaign to raise the funds to take Chewbacca home. If you could donate it would mean so much to my friend and to myself. I really want him to go to a good home. If you can’t donate, PLEASE reblog!!! Thank you.

what? i have no idea what you’re talking about. i’m guessing you have a preconceived idea of what a latine should look / sound / do based on the “classic” latines that you see in the media all the time, like:

and don’t forget about the black latines, such as:
and the indigenous latines are also very important:
and there’s also chinese latines, like Harry Shum, Jr. yeah, thay guy from glee and the shadowhunters (the netflix show). i don’t know if he self identifies as latino, but he was born in Costa Rica and lived there for six years, so that makes him latino by definition.
in fact, there’s presence of many asian racial / ethnic groups, but they’re not very common in the media. that’s why i’m not including any pictures. but they’re here and we love them.
and let’s not even talk about the mixing going on with all of the above because this post could go on for years
so bottom line:
- latinoamérica is a big beautiful melting pot of everything
- latine is not a skin color, it’s an ethnicity
- there’s no such thing as “looking latine”. all latines are different
- and it is possible that not every latine self identifies as poc

This years E3 is going to be an interesting one, because the landscape of gaming has shifted so dramatically in such a short timespan
Nintendo has pulled themselves out of the hole they dug with the Wii U and are currently making a KILLING with the Switch, and after all that they showed off with the Direct they stand to walk into E3 with potentially a new Yoshi game, No More Heroes 3, Bayonetta 3, More content for Odyssey, and of course Super Smash Bros.Nintendo is back in the running and there’s no denying it
Sony meanwhile is chugging along pretty well with the PS4. No doubt they’ll have a solid lineup at E3 (Spiderman, God of War, Medievil Remake, Last of Us 2…) and of course there’s the rumors that they’re taking another shot at handhelds to possibly throwdown with the Switch.
Microsoft meanwhile is the one facing an uphill battle. They have a powerhouse of a system, but there is a MASSIVE drought of exclusive titles to justify buying it. Halo ain’t what it used to be, Scalebound is gone, Fable Legends is gone, Crackdown is in development hell (But is thankfully coming this year). What’s worse is that any other game on the Xbox we could either get on PS4 or PC… Microsoft really needs to sell people on the Xbone this year
On the developer end… The Loot Box bubble has burst and everyone’s feeling it. EA has driven their public image into the grave and Konami isn’t far behind them. Square has all of TWO games (FF7 Remake and Kingdom Hearts 3) people actually care about but they’ve been blue-balling their fanbase for literal years, and this is the year they’re supposed to deliver on one of those.
Ubisoft is… still Ubisoft
And to top it all off, in the past few years Indie Games have been chipping away and making a legit name for themselves: Shovel Knight, Hat in Time, Bendy and the Ink Machine, Five Nights at Freddy’s, Hello Neighbor, Yooka-Laylee (for better or worse), Brawlhalla, Undertale….Indies are a force to be reckoned with now, and the big guys are taking notice.
E3 is gonna be really interesting to see and I can’t wait
