“4 Reasons You Should Stop Wearing Makeup Right Now”
So I just read a year old article on Thought Catalog, which in retrospect was probably not the best idea on my part as it seems every single time I do, I feel pretty upset about that choice, but I honestly just felt like despite the fact that this article was written a year ago, the opinion of the author is still a pretty popular belief as it stands right now, in 2015.
The title of this article is “4 Reasons You Should Stop Wearing Makeup Right Now”, hence the Title of this post, and in it, the author specifies 4 reasons he believes that women should not wear makeup. Now, regardless of what he MEANT to say about women (probably a positive thing in his mind) by this article, I’d just like to take a moment and really point out why I personally disagree with him. (And I’ll link the article here so you can read it before i continue)

Honestly I think the most important of these points that i’d like to clear up is the last one in which Baker asks women to
“Get your high school diploma. Go to college. Learn new skills. Get a job that you love. Read a book. Develop your own view and philosophy about life, about politics, about love.“
I’m only going to say one thing about this statement, actually, about this ENTIRE ARTICLE, because it’s honestly not even worth the time it’ll take me to type all of my feelings out…If you think that gold eyeshadow or red lips can stop a woman from going to college, learning new skills, getting a job that she loves or literally ANYTHING else she dreams of doing… then YOU’RE what’s setting social justice back, not what she’s putting on her face.
