I think it’s the most valuable of property that we have. I think we should go to the bank and get a loan, actually I think we should just get lemon tree insurance and then get a loan and use the lemon tree as collateral because it is now insured. so I have school tomorrow, and I’m not quite sure how I’ll handle this semester to be honest. I mean my schedule’s a LOT better than last year, and I have more time. Last year, I had to come home at like 8pm on Fridays, and it was just stressful (I don’t like coming home late) As far as studying and grades go, i’m gonna try to be more organized, but seriously I’m just nervous I’m gonna fuck it up like usual :/ looking at studyblr is nice though, lookit those nice notebooks. I bought stuff from Muji just because I saw how nice they were LOL wish me luck

This is a heartrending video of a young Filipina maid working for a family in Bahrain who after rape and abuse, was now being prevented from leaving.
This is a problem I have been reading and hearing of for years…domestic workers coming to the Middle East, looking for opportunities to economically improve their lives by working for wealthy families, and being plunged headlong into lives of enslavement, torture, and sexual abuse. This problem, to my knowledge, has been going on for several decades. This young lady was one of the lucky ones as her pleas for help were shared on her Facebook page and it brought attention to her plight. She has now left that house of horrors and I am so happy for her. The trauma will probably stay with her for years, but she has FREEDOM and the opportunity to do what she wants with her life. I sincerely hope that she receives some kind of financial help. She desperately needs it!
With suffering and victimized young women around the globe, they are frequently targeted because they are viewed as ‘vulnerable’ and ‘helpless’. They are preyed upon by those who refuse to respect their humanity and wield their power, class, and gender like a weapon. Women in these situations need the entire might of the international community on their side. There are SO many other Filipina women in these enslavement situations who will not have their pleas heard, who will not be rescued from their daily miseries. Here is some information on their suffering. Be aware of what our sisters are enduring.

This happens to so many maids and domestic workers from South Asia and South-East Asia working in the Middle East. It’s a very common yet terrifying issue and urgently needs attention.
It is, sadly, also the case for Filipina and Indonesian maids working in other SEAsia countries, usually Malaysia and Singapore.
