The moment people were like “oh shit water benders”
I really loved this episode though, it was an established theme in the show that firebenders are associated with death and waterbenders are associated with life and healing, and up to this point it all seemed so clear-cut, because fire obviously destroys everything in its path while water can put out fires and heals, as we’ve seen particularly in Katara’s case with her natural healing ability.
Then we meet Hama, who due to years of torture and hatred has found a way to turn the classic gentler waterbending ways into a weapon of destruction and manipulation, and honestly I can’t think of a better way to introduce people to the fact that things are never as clear cut as they seem. We’ve thought of waterbenders as the good guys up until this point, so it’s jarring to find out that no, despite stereotypes and traditions, there are always going to be good and bad people in every culture/group, but that’s the point of the entire show.
It’s revisited later too when Aang and Zuko find the Sun Warriors who teach them firebending is not just about death and destruction, but also about bringing warmth to the earth and making plants grow and both Aang and Zuko needed to hear that they weren’t just instruments of destruction and gain confidence from the idea of using firebending to create life and I love it I love this show so much.

Why Movies About College are Actually Full of Shit.
This is very important because my brother and I grew up thinking college was like this. Like we would live out a beer commercial.
And when I got to college and it DIDN’T happen, it stressed me out. I thought I was doing something wrong again. I had, apparently, messed up high school according to the media, and now college?! The supposed best time of my life?! It created a big depression, and living far from home made it worse as I had no friends or family I could immediately talk to. It took a long time for me to understand that movies and commercials and shows that portray college like that is complete and utter bullshit.
Tiffany’s biggest critic is Tiffany herself. If she thinks she didn’t do good enough she’s the type to beat herself up about it and start to overthink everything. If she doesn’t want to read internet reactions because it could make her even more nervous and affect her performance how do you think she’d feel if she has saw any of the mean comments her own fan base are leaving her on her instagram account? Considering she’s been updating on there and has obviously looked at the stuff she’s been tagged in there’s a possibility she has seen them.
I don’t expect anything different from antis but it would be nice if sones could support her instead of turning on her. Its obvious she’s been nervous about her solo, yuri, sooyoung and taeyeon have all pointed out how this nervous she has been and how they haven’t seen her this way before. During her i just wanna dance countdown even the staff in the room were laughing in shock at how much nerves she had. She’s under a lot of pressure, not just from other people but from the pressure she puts on herself, and its visibly getting to her.
Instead of joining in on all the bashing, it would be nice if sones at least, could offer her some moral support and give her encouragement which could possibly help her over come whats going on in her head. If you saw someone in real life struggle with nerves would you kick them when they were down instead of offering some support? Is it really that hard for others just to treat tiffany as a person who has feelings for once?
