zakuras:Nagi no Asukara - Scenery

Hiya! I'd love to know your POV on this. Is there a reason that it SEEMS goth really dislikes emo and scene subculture? I know that that time was definitely like, a time of "cringy/edgy"ness that people now-a-days dislike or saw as embarrassing but did the emo/scene subculture ever do anything wrong to the goth subculture in general other than being mistaken as goth/calling themselves goth? Like, being called emo seems to be used as an insult toward people who aren't "goth enough" (1/2)

I don’t really consider myself emo anymore, it’s just interesting that emo/scene just seems to have this negative connotation still whereas goth and punk and metalheads don’t seem to get the same kind of issues. (Unless I’m wrong and those subcultures went through this kind of thing too.) Thanks in advance! Wanted to know your opinion/thoughts on it and perhaps I could learn something (2/2)

The goth, punk, and metal subcultures did go through that kind of thing, and still do, to a certain degree. There’s still a lot of people out there who view any of those (or any outside-of-the-norm subculture) as wrong, upsetting, and a sign of mental or emotional disturbance.

However, emo and scene subcultures are also dealing with the stigmas of (1) being perceived as a “teen” thing (and large parts of society automatically dismiss or deride anything that is appealing to teens), and (2) being subcultures that were more visible thanks to the rise of social media. Believe me, if any social media platform(s) had been around during the early-to-mid years of goth and all of us had been able to post our pouty graveyard photoshoots and oh-so-dark poetry, there would have been even more mockery of goth.

Finally, hey look! There’s a Gothic Charm School post about this! (From, um, 11 years ago, the passage of time weirds me out.)

I got a couple emails this morning showing me that happy Monday store is stealing my art on one of their tops. I’ll do my best to contact them but I hold no hope in them taking it down /sigh

Thank you to everyone who commented on the instagram post. unfortunately they deleted all comments that eluded to the design being stolen. I guess there’s not much else for me to do since I never heard back from them.

Not surprising considering that 90% of their store is stolen art so it is better to make sure calling them out on it gets spread.

I wasn’t familiar with this store until now. If you’d like to help bring awareness to this store’s rampant art theft please reblog to spread the message.

Update : I went to check their instagram out and the post looks like it has been deleted and their store doesnt have it up yet. I will check back again to confirm in the future.

Polycephaly is the condition of having more than one head. Two-headed animals (called bicephalic or dicephalic) and three-headed (tricephalic) animals are the only type of multi-headed creatures seen in the real world, and form by the same process as conjoined twins from monozygotic twin embryos.

While two headed snakes are rare, they do occur in both the wild and in captivity at a rate of about 1 in 10,000 births. Most wild polycephalic snakes do not live long, but some captive individuals do. A two-headed black rat snake with separate throats and stomachs survived for 20 years.

(Sources: xxxxxxx x)

Why does this seem to happen to snakes so often compared to other animals? I mean, you don’t see this happen to dogs or cats very often but snake embryos seem almost eager to mix it up every once in a while and pull a two-for-one deal in the head department.

The consensus seems to be that polycephaly occurs more often in reptiles than other animals, but the why of it, as far as I could find out, is relatively unknown. Polycephalic animals appear so infrequently and they survive for such a short time that scientists just have not been able to study them sufficiently. If anyone can find more information about why it happens more often in reptiles, feel free to chime in. In the meantime, enjoy these two-headed lizards and turtles:

Can you imagine the arguments!

One thought real quick: two-headed dinosaurs

oh my god i will lose my fuckin mind the day that fossil is found

@magicturtle two headed dinosaurs seems like something you’d be down for.

Rawr YEAH!

I think I misunderstood the assignment.
