His eyes opened to the faint sound of bubbles - and it took him a second, eyes widening to realise that he was underwater as immediately struggled to breathe and choked lightly on some water that he already sucked in by accident. He did his best to keep his breath and his shock in when he witnessed what woke him up - long hair? A… face… He thought to himself, his mind and eyesight still slightly fuzzy from the temporary knock that left him unconscious - and when he gained back his eagle-eyed eyesight, he realised that it was the face of a woman.
Her emerald eyes were enough to entrance him into the bewildering thought - a woman?! In the seas, out of nowhere?! There was no woman aboard on my ship! - and the albino almost screamed underwater when his eyes trailed down, only to witness a huge tail, pushing him up as the scales glimmered duly against the sunlight reflected from the surface.

“Wake up!,” an almost angelic, ladylike sound rang through his ears, echoing in repeat through his mind. “Wake up, idiot!”
Idiot? Who, me?
“I’m not an idi-“, the red-eyed snapped back groggily, and before even finishing his sentence, his mouth seemed to rebel to his words as he coughed out water that was in his throat. “Wh-“
“Finally, you’re awake!,” the young woman huffed in front of him, raising her hand to show him what she was holding - is that seaweed? “You are injured, and I see your hand is bleeding severely… I’m fixing that up, so don’t move too much.”
Her words didn’t seem to register in his head much though - how he managed to end up being treated by a beautiful young woman with long locks in the coast of nowhere he had no idea, but his heart felt like leaping out of his throat when one, he realised that she was stark nude, and two, she has a tail with fins for a lower part.
“You’re a-,” the Prussian choked out in disbelief, trying to regain his manly control - there goes his chance of trying to impress a beautiful young lady that seemed too precious to let go of - but… but she’s a-
“A mermaid?”, the brunette interrupted with a smirk, earning a wince from the other as she tightened her seaweed wrap on his wrist. “You should watch your manners, young man - it’s not everyday a mermaid would help you with your injuries - you might have ended up getting eaten by my siste- what are you doing?”
“You’re real…”, the man muttered on repeat, his hand absent-mindedly reaching to gently touch her porcelain cheek, rubbing his thumb across the soft skin idly. “… You’re real. You’re really real.”
“… Yes I am, of course,” she huffed, however a small blush did spread across her cheeks. “You should try keeping your hands to yourself…”, she murmured more, her eyes however fixed on the other’s vivid red eyes as her voice softened. “…. What is your name?”
“… Gilbert - Gilbert Beilschmidt,” the Prussian immediately responded, his eyes also never leaving the other’s enchanting emerald ones. “… and what is yours?”
“… I’m Eliza.”
