Honestly this whole “birb” thing kind of pisses me off because now everyone wants a bird and no one does the proper research or gives their birds the right care. Having a bird is NOTHING like having a cat or dog, they require a fuckton of mental and emotional care and stimulation, specialized diets, and they can’t be around a lot of chemicals. Seeing all these tumblr teens going and buying birds because “O BIRB DOES A LITTLE TOOT AND CUDDLES” is really upsetting. It takes weeks, months, sometimes years to train a bird to a point where it will even touch you. The level of respect and trust you have to build with a bird is unlike any other relationship you will ever have. Please, don’t rush in and get a bird
