So, after doing some research into this I found out a few things.
The chips pictured above are Doritos new Roulette bag. They’re filled with mostly Nacho Cheese flavored chips and a couple ultra-spicy chips. Now, the ultra-spicy chips are coated with flavoring that measures 78,000 on the Scoville Heat Scale. For comparison, the Jalapeño pepper only measures 1000-4000 on it.
The girl pictured above is Beth, a 14 year old girl who has asthma. After eating the chip she began to struggle to breathe and feared she could die if it lead to a
full-blown asthma attack. Then just a week later she had a asthma attack at school which she believes was linked to her eating the chip.

It’s sad to see a post with so many people laughing at a girl with breathing problems who legitimately thought she might die.
I usually wouldn’t do a long debunking type post like this, but my brother has asthma so seeing this pissed me off on a whole other level.

It doesn’t matter if it was perfect, though. It was a reply to an anon. And the hate came from another anon. That’s two anons.

Like I get that people want me to live up to their standard, and I get that having anons turned on makes it nice for shy folks, but goddammit I’m not less valuable than anyone else. I’m an actual person WHY IS THIS EVEN A DEBATE.
(I’m sorry I’m being shouty at you like I know you mean well and stuff but oh my god I hope you understand why this is all so horribly frustrating.)
Alright everybody, listen up: I just heard the news that Euclase has deleted her tumblr due to anon hate.
Let me preface this by saying that, not only am I upset about this in general, but also on a personal level, being a fan artist myself. Very few things make me well and truly angry, and bullying of any kind is in the top three.
I won’t bother explaining why sending someone anon hate is a horrible, awful, insensitive thing to do, because any decent human being already knows that. Instead, I’m going to educate you on a few things about painting versus digital painting.
Number one: I want you to sit down, take out a sheet of paper and a pencil. On that sheet of paper, I want you to draw a face as realistically as you can. It doesn’t matter whose face it is and you can take as long as you need–you can even use a reference/mirror if you’d like.
I think it’s safe to say none of you are actually attempting this. Why is that? Probably because it would take too long, right?
And why would it take so long? Because it’s DIFFICULT. No matter your caliber as an artist, you can’t produce that level of anatomical accuracy without working for it first. That skill does not appear out of nowhere.
So even if you can draw a realistic face like this, in no seconds flat
it probably took years of practice and discipline to get to that point. (Unless you’re Pablo Picasso, and mastered realism by age 14.)
Number two: It’s one thing to do a realistic portrait in black and white, but to do it in COLOR?? That’s something else entirely and requires an completely separate level of understanding. There are literally full college courses directed solely toward color theory. That alone should tell you how complicated and challenging it is.
With that in mind, I want you to look at this picture Euclase did. Look at it long and hard and take note of every last subtlety down the texture of his skin:
Number three: Fun fact–colors created by traditional paint and colors created by digital paint are completely different.
When you paint with oils, acryllics, or watercolor, you’re coloring with pigments.
When you paint digitally, you’re painting with LIGHT. In my experience, I literally have to think differently when I paint digitally because colors are not produced or visually perceived in the same way. Granted, it’s a subconscious thing, but there’s absolutely a gear-switch when I go back and forth between digital and traditional.
Now, it could be just me, but I personally find painting natural colors digitally infinitely more difficult than painting them traditionally.
So, now that we’ve established how much fucking skill goes into Euclase’s art,let’s wrap this up by discussing the main complaint against her work:
If I’m not mistaken, a lot of the complaints went along the lines of claiming her art wasn’t legitimate because they were “copies” and didn’t “inspire” originality.

See, the thing to understand about her art is its subtlety and detail–if that’s not your thing, I get that, and that’s perfectly fine.
BUT IF YOU TRY TO TELL ME THAT THIS IS NOT “REAL ART”, YOU’VE GOT ANOTHER THING COMING, PAL. GOT IT??
I found a photo of cricket where the lighting reminded me of a euclase painting, so I decided to use it as reference and take a stab at emulating their lovely style. :) I’ve never tried for photo-realism before but it turned out better than expected! (fullview please…if you wanna see the mistakes lol)
